Futurama: Game of Drones

Level design:

  • creation of the first 300 levels
  • several companion powers
  • several level modifiers / obstacles

Workflow optimizations:

  • creation of a system that automatically calculates a color spawn ratio that fits to the created level
  • creation of a level layout generator that helps getting ideas for new levels
  • creation of a modifier generator that helps getting ideas for new level modifiers / obstacles
  • creation of several VBA / Google Spreadsheet scripts that help having an overview over all levels and quickly changing all of them

A/B tests:

  • planned & set up an A/B test with different difficulty curve shapes which led to significant improvements in bookings & long-term retention

Sound:

  • Communication (briefing & feedback) with external sound designer
  • Implementation of sounds & music in the game and in the comics

User tests:

  • Regular user tests
